The TD Emerald Canadian Treasury Management - Financial Institution Fund (the Fund) is a high-quality, actively managed money market fund for both taxable and non-taxable assets. The Fund is part of a Cash Investment Service offered by TD Asset Management and The Toronto-Dominion Bank.
The portfolio managers focus on the Canadian debt market, as well as global macroeconomic trends. The Fund follows a “bottom-up” strategy using diligent credit analysis to add value and enhance long-term performance. The Fund then incorporates a view of the overall economy into its analysis and purchases only R1 (mid)-rated paper or higher.
The investment objective is to earn a high rate of interest income and at the same time preserve capital and maintain liquidity. The portfolio is invested primarily in debt instruments, such as treasury bills of Canadian governments and bankers’ acceptances of Canadian chartered banks and other Canadian dollar denominated issues of financial institutions.
As part of a Cash Investment Service, the Fund is suitable for both taxable and non-taxable investors. We believe it represents an attractive investment solution for cash balances held by corporate, individual, municipal, pension, trust, endowment and union funds. It is intended for accounts whose investments will average a minimum of $1 million.
This Fund is not eligible for Group RRSPs, DPSPs or other registered plans.
