TD Emerald 20+ Strip Bond Pooled Fund Trust (the Fund) is designed for institutional investors who wish to extend the duration of their fixed income portfolios. The performance objective of the Fund is to provide returns similar to those of the DEX 20+ Strip Bond Index . A strip bond is created from existing conventional bonds by separating each of the coupon payments as well as the principal payment (the residual), from one another. Once stripped, each coupon and the residual can trade as a separate security, allowing the holder to receive a single known payment on a specific date (also known as a “zero coupon” bond). The Index is comprised of federal and provincial strip bonds with a term to maturity greater than 20 years.

The investment objective of the Fund is to provide performance similar to the performance of the DEX 20+ Strip Bond Index or, if such index is no longer published or widely used in the Canadian market, any successor index or any other index, determined by TDAM, widely used to track the performance of the Canadian long strip bond market.
