Portfolio Update
The price of gold rose in September, closing at US$1,007 an ounce, compared with US$951 in August. Gold was up from US$870 an ounce a year ago. Investment demand for gold bullion continues to be strong. The portfolio adviser continues to believe that ongoing concern regarding the U.S. dollar could lead to increases in investment demand over the coming year. The Fund’s focus remains on companies with superior resource assets, proven management teams and the ability to finance growth. The portfolio adviser maintains meaningful exposure to junior companies that have attractive exploration and development projects.
