Quarterly Update
Major U.S. stock market indexes posted mixed results as uncertainty surrounded U.S. elections and fiscal policy. The Fund underperformed its benchmark, the Russell 2000 Index (C$), in the consumer discretionary sector. Holdings in the hotels, restaurants, and leisure and specialty retail industries weighed on results. Energy was another underperforming sector. The Fund outperformed the Russell 2000 Index in the information technology sector, helped by strength in the computers and peripherals industry. Health care equipment and supplies and biotechnology companies drove outperformance of the Index in the health care sector.
