Portfolio Update
Quarterly Update

The Fund generated a positive return in the third quarter of 2012, nearly matching the performance of the Russell 1000 Value Index. Stock selection and sector allocation decisions were positive contributors to relative performance. Portfolio holdings in the consumer discretionary, materials, and information technology sectors outperformed, offsetting relative weakness in consumer staples and telecommunications services. A modest amount of U.S. dollar cash in the portfolio detracted slightly, as the stock market rallied and the U.S. dollar declined relative to the Canadian dollar. Returns were weaker in Canadian dollar terms as the Canadian dollar strengthened versus the U.S. dollar during the quarter.
